Teamsters Local 703 is proud to announce a major contract victory for our members at Fresh Thyme Warehouse in Bolingbrook, IL, where an overwhelming 97.5% of the membership voted YES to ratify a strong new 4-year agreement that delivers across the board.
This contract brings real, lasting improvements for our hardworking members:
• Over a 34% wage increase across all classifications
• A $2,250 signing bonus for every member
• Increased incentive pay and more attainable incentive targets
• Stronger, member-focused discipline language for added protection
• Better language honoring any Teamsters picket or strike line
• Improved holiday pay language and enhanced vacation usage rights
• And for the first time ever: a 40-hour weekly guarantee that covers the majority of the workforce at the facility
This 4-year deal sets a new standard and reflects the strength and unity of our members at Fresh Thyme.

Teamsters General President Sean O’Brien and General Secretary-Treasurer Fred Zuckerman visited the Chicago International Produce Market alongside the Teamsters Local 703 Executive Board and Business Agents to meet with the hardworking union members who keep the market running strong.
The visit was a great success, with members showing their appreciation for the leadership’s commitment to protecting and strengthening Teamster jobs. General President O’Brien expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and the unity displayed by Local 703 members.
We thank our General President and Secretary-Treasurer for taking the time to see firsthand the dedication of our members and for standing with us in the fight for stronger contracts, better wages, and improved working conditions.

Three-Year Contract with Lineage - Joliet
We are excited to announce that members of Teamsters Local 703 have overwhelmingly ratified a new three-year contract with Lineage Logistics in Joliet, IL, with 85% of the members voting in favor. This contract delivers significant gains in wages, benefits, and working conditions for our members.
Key highlights of the new contract include:
• Wage Increases: Members will receive annual raises over the next three years,
starting with a $1.15 increase in 2024. $1.10 in 2025 and $1.10 in 2026.
• Starting Wage: New hires will receive an increase of $2 to raise the minimum starting wage to $22 per hour.
• Health Benefits: The contract includes improved health coverage, with vision and dental plans included, and a cap on employee contributions. Starting next year, employees will also receive short-term and long-term disability benefits in line with those offered to non-union employees at Lineage.
• Vacation & Personal Time: Increased vacation time and more flexibility in using personal and sick time.
• Attendance Policy: A revamped attendance system with shorter disciplinary periods and opportunities to reduce attendance points.
• Workplace Protections: New provisions ensuring proper work gear and enhanced break times for longer shifts.

Local 703 was proud to attend the Teamsters Hispanic Caucus First Gala, where Jesse Miranda, President of the Chicago Chapter, was recognized for his contributions to the union and his impactful work through the caucus. Jesse has been a driving force in advocating for Hispanic members, ensuring their voices are heard within the labor movement. His dedication and leadership have made a significant difference, both within Local 703 and through his work in the Hispanic Caucus.
We are pleased to announce that Teamsters Local 703 has successfully reached an agreement with the Chicago Park District on a new four-year contract that brings unprecedented benefits to our members. These increases surpass the highest gains secured in the past 30 years for Local 703 members at the Chicago Park District. Key highlights of this groundbreaking agreement include:
- **Wage Increases**: Over the next four years, certain groups will see their wages increase by up to 48%, with general wage increases of no less than 18% across the board.
- **Job Security**: New language has been added to the contract to further protect job security for our members.
- **Vacation**: Members will enjoy increased vacation time, giving them more opportunities for rest and rejuvenation.
- **Premiums for CDL and Heavy Equipment Operators**: Members with a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and those who operate heavy equipment will receive increased wage premiums.
- **Longevity Bonuses**: Longevity bonuses have been introduced, increasing based on the length of tenure with the Park District.
- **Safety Provisions**: Additional language has been included to enhance safety measures, ensuring a safer work environment for all.
- **Paid Parental Leave**: The amount of paid parental leave has been increased, supporting our members who are growing their families.
- **Signing Bonus**: All full-time employees will receive a signing bonus of $2,250.
This agreement was made possible through the dedicated efforts of our bargaining committee, including Vice President Tony Carioscia, Trustee Sam Scianna, Business Agent Johnny Scianna, and Union Stewards Ronnie Cooper, Casey Beidelman, and Andrew D’Arcy. We would also like to extend our gratitude to the Local 703 Executive Board for their trust and support throughout this process.

On August 31st, Teamsters Local 703 hosted a successful outing at the Chicago Fire game, bringing together our dedicated members for an evening of camaraderie and entertainment. The event was well-attended, with a strong turnout from our membership, including several members of our Executive Board who joined us for the festivities.
The atmosphere was electric as everyone gathered to support the Chicago Fire, enjoying not only the game but also the opportunity to connect with fellow members outside of the workplace. Events like these are crucial in fostering a sense of unity and solidarity within our union, and we are thrilled to have had such a positive response from those who participated.
